Terms of Service

These Terms of Service govern your use of the developer.truid.io developer portal and SDK package registry operated by truID (Pty) Ltd. For the general truID platform terms, please refer to truid.co.za.

1. Acceptance of terms

By accessing or using the truID Connect SDK developer portal and package registry, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the portal.

2. Access and accounts

Access to the portal is by invitation only. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and API keys. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorised use of your account.

  • API keys must not be shared with or disclosed to third parties.
  • You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
  • You must not attempt to circumvent authentication or access controls.

3. Permitted use

The truID Connect SDK and associated documentation are provided for use in integrating your application with the truID Connect Platform in accordance with your separate service agreement with truID (Pty) Ltd.

You may:

  • Download and use the SDK packages in your applications.
  • Access and read the documentation for integration purposes.
  • Use assigned API keys to authenticate your SDK package downloads.

You may not:

  • Redistribute, resell, or sublicense the SDK packages without express written permission.
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the SDK packages beyond what is permitted by applicable law.
  • Use the portal in any manner that could damage, disable, or impair our services.
  • Scrape or bulk-download documentation without prior written consent.

4. Intellectual property

All content, trademarks, logos, and SDK packages accessible through this portal are the intellectual property of truID (Pty) Ltd or its licensors. Nothing in these Terms grants you ownership of any intellectual property.

5. Disclaimer of warranties

THE PORTAL AND SDK ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. TRUID DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE PORTAL WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF HARMFUL COMPONENTS.

6. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, TRUID (PTY) LTD SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE PORTAL OR SDK, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

7. Privacy

Our collection and use of personal information is described in our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

8. Security responsibilities

You are responsible for ensuring that your use of the SDK and API keys complies with applicable security standards and does not introduce vulnerabilities into your own applications. You agree to report any security vulnerabilities discovered in the SDK to security@truid.co.za promptly and in good faith.

9. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the portal at any time, with or without cause, with or without notice. Upon termination, your API keys will be revoked and your right to access the portal ceases.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of South Africa.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by updating the effective date above. Continued use of the portal after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
